Adena Local Theatre presents Little Shop of Horrors as part of our commitment to offering students rich, challenging theatrical experiences.
We want all families to feel informed and comfortable when attending our productions.
Parents and guardians should be aware that this musical contains the following content:
- Themes of violence, including a man-eating plant that consumes human characters (depicted theatrically, not graphically)
- Cartoon/comedic depictions of death and peril
- Domestic abuse themes within a dating relationship
- Mild adult humor consistent with the show's 1980s musical comedy tone
- Mild mature language, including minor profanity
- Loud sound effects and special effects, including dramatic lighting and theatrical surprises that may startle young children
Little Shop of Horrors is a beloved, Tony Award–winning musical comedy and is entirely appropriate for most school-age audiences. However, we recommend parental discretion for children under approximately 8 years of age, particularly those who are sensitive to loud noises, scary characters, or themes involving danger.
If you have specific questions about the production's content, please don't hesitate to contact us.
